8/3/16
My good pal Joey hooked us up with the big bus double-decker
passes for Tuesday—so nice of him and that tour was a blast! I had biked downtown and back home to
Andersonville, which was pretty exhausting.
I was so glad to sit on a bus because those gals were
starting to wear me out!
We all got SUPER hot stuck in Lolla-traffic on the awesome
bus, so got off and had a drink near Michigan Avenue. Alli tried to order hot chocolate (girlfriend
is a FOOL for Hot Chocolate in any weather) and then headed north to check out
my favorite lakefront spot—Montrose Beach and The Dock. It was a gem of a day,
and the gals hit the water while I lounged and nursed my beer.
In my younger days, I would have never dreamt of sneaking
beer on the beach---but now I know that EVERYONE does it, so it’s super-casual.
If anyone comes up just say “it’s apple juice!”.
We had snacks at the Dock and took some great pictures. Then, I didn’t plan well and use the
facilities at the Dock, and we were walking to the car and I REALLY had to go. Like, bladder might explode feeling GO. So, I
channeled my inner-hippy/wild child from high school, and I found a spot peed
outside (but not around the girls, just Amy---but she’s been to a dead show, so
it didn’t matter), and then we went to the dog beach for Sunset. It was gorgeous, and we all had a blast, even
though Pickle was home resting and did not join us at the dog beach.
The gals packed up and left the next day---and I felt lonesome
for their company, but also took a 3 hour nap so I may have been a bit tired. That's half of a night time! I even woke up in the middle of it, and went to the bathroom and decided to just keep sleeping anyway!
