Today is “personal business” day.
I need to upload a Cobra document to my laptop, and thought
“oh! My printer scans”. Rather than email, I thought I’d throw the
doc on a thumb drive, which is an option it gives me. However, there is no
visible port on the printer so I pulled it away from the wall and looked
everywhere. No dice.
This is a newer HP I bought at Costco.
I thought to myself, “If this is American Technology,
specifically HP, I know why that company is sucking wind so bad.”
So, I am sitting here, not wanting to look up the computer
model, and figure out where the g-d port is, so I made some popcorn and drank a
La Croix to calm myself down.
I remember when a dear dear work colleague of mine was
sharing that her husband (who was a dirtbag at being a husband) and her were
divorcing. She said “well, at least one
good thing—we all are awesome at CRUSHING PAPERWORK”. We had just heard about the divorce, so I
chose not to respond verbally, but I remember thinking (we are? Who is? I am
not good at crushing paperwork at all! I
hate that shit!).
That’s how I feel right now—surrounded by mounds of
envelopes, cheaper cable notices, etc and I just want to go outside and run
away from it all!
But instead I have to set up a google pay account, print and
scan a contract, scan some cobra documents, find my missing credit card, file
some bank statements, get some mail to ex-roommate’s husband, read my Nat Geo,
and I just want to RUN RUN RUN!
But, that’s not how crushing paperwork works.
Ps---I got so overwhelmed that I absolutely failed, and took
a nap from 2-5. Better luck tmw!
